This 45-hour course provides a comprehensive introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), focusing on the essential principles and techniques used in modern software development. Throughout the course, students will learn how to create basic non-GUI applications while gaining practical experience with key programming concepts, including:

  • Programming Syntax: A thorough understanding of the syntax and structure required to write clean, efficient code.
  • Standard Programming Logic: The development of problem-solving skills and logical thinking through the use of loops, conditionals, and other fundamental programming constructs.
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts: Students will explore OOP concepts such as classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation, which are foundational for building scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Integrated Development Environments (IDE): An introduction to various IDEs, showing how to set up and use them for writing, debugging, and running code effectively.
  • Command Line Basics: An overview of the command line interface (CLI) for running programs and navigating file systems, providing valuable skills for working in various development environments.
  • Hands-On Feedback and Grading: prompt asynchronous feedback on assignments and exercises, with a grading system designed to track progress and help students refine their coding skills.
