I will never be proactive in applying for academic regulated jobs. The reference system is ridiculous, this recent position state college that contact me to teach school, I finally completed references, but it took nearly 15-20 days to complete references for a single application. It’s not worth my time, to go constantly hunt references to stay employed.
A lot of work is going to in office work as well, and also even though I am expunged security clearance positions in fayetteville, the corporations have difficulty taking risks on a $45,000 secret or top secret security clearance, so I mostly look for medical sector and other private sector projects.
Prototyping positions are fun, I like to do prototyping, I am a reasonably good engineer, but because of the globalization and commoditization of engineering, and over-reliance on big-tech cloud systems, engineering is not necessarily an important commodity. I can even take advantage of low skilled engineers and help them develop to become better.
Data is the main commodity of AI and it costs billions of dollars or it’s stolen, which rewards capitalist elite firms in their control of data, and punishes the people outside of the large companies.
This is why I support open source AI, and I am against the GDPR.
