US citizen prisoners have rights:
Foreign prisoners especially drug dealers need to be deported. The prison population is overwhelmingly young ignorant men who are unlearned.
In 2007 I spend several months between Sacramento County Main Jail & Rio Consumnes Correctional Center.
As I was inside I was shocked at the prisoners lack of basic literary skills or mathematics education.
75% of these prisoners reoffend after their sentencing either from corruption from law enforcement, or making clerical mistakes, or debtor’s prison.
US citizen prisoners have rights to education, as the rights of a child. Even when people are tried as young adults, they are US children and the amount of education required to survive in this economy is difficult for survival. Being a prisoner of the United States, the government claims they are saving money for early release, but without a support system and having no renter or University rights it is so difficult that people unless they are on good terms with their family are forced to stay in wilderness convict camps.
Anyone who is in the USA needs to take their life seriously and not allow the adversary of the government itself to claim victory against your life.
The US economy is becoming a services economy, and the amount of services that convicts need is tattoo removal, education, detoxification, stop the aggressive behavior, and stop associating with criminals.
The US pell grants are up to $50,000 USD in title IV money, I have exhausted Title IV money in my schooling but it was well worth it. Every US citizen prisoner needs to enroll into college courses (not a full load) if part time. If they are too uneducated for college, then high school or Jr. high school education.
Even if prisoners do not have permission for a personal device, they should be permitted to use a public computer lab. These computer labs should be safe for convicts to use, meaning cables secured, plexiglass over the mouse and making sure that cables cannot be used as weapons.
I have 240+ college credits at this point. It is not wise to allow prisoners to waste their lives when they can be doing productive work and be ready for scientific research or other positions in their future.
College Degrees are not useless at all, they allow a person to participate in the knowledge economy.
